The Post-Photoshoot Process

What does the photographer do after a photoshoot?

I don’t know if you’re quite curious. Maybe now that I’ve mentioned it, you may be wondering..

What DOES the photographer do when they get home from a photoshoot?

What I immediately do is I take my SD card and immediately pull the pictures up on my computer.

Now going through the photos may seem like a long and tedious process (especially since I be laying heavy fingers on my shutter button 😅). But thanks to advice from a fellow photographer, I have found the perfect software so that I am able to get through your photos quickly.

The photos pull up quickly and before I have uploaded anything, I am sifting through the photos. Tagging only the previews I wish to edit and produce.

During this time I am also choosing the ones that feel perfect for the sneak peeks. The ones that will get you excited and give you an early look at your portrait gallery.

As soon as i’ve gone through the whole SD card, I upload them to my first hard drive. Now only the photos that I will end up editing go into my editing process! This saves SO much time!

And bonus, the editing software sees which photos i’ve already selected to edit for the sneak peeks.

So I upload the photos (from my hard drive) into the editing software Lightroom Classic and immediately get to work on the sneak peeks. Fixing lighting and any little things that don’t quite fit into the photo.

Once the sneaks are edited, I create what you know as the blog. Which is also located on the stories tab on my website that holds all the memories of my previous photoshoots. All of the sneak peek moments!

Once i’ve finished editing the portraits, I upload everything i’ve completed to my first hard drive which then they get directly backed up onto a second hard drive.

So at the end of the day, your portraits are safe with me!

So yeah! That’s my little process that has proven to be very quick and reliable. You get your portraits fast and with quality.

Enjoy a weird day today,
